Compro IP70 Security Camera — Product Review Compro IP70 is a new small-scale surveillance camera that can perfectly monitor homes and small-scale businesses. Packed with advanced features and remote monitoring options, Compro IP70 Security Camera managed to impress us at the first look. Compro IP70 Security Camera comes with IR lamp in front that enables one to record H.264 and MPEG-4 encoded videos even when the lighting isn’t too sharp, it also enables one to monitor your home/office via their mobile phones (Smartphones). Design and Construction Compro IP70 Security Camera is pretty basic in design and is of standard size, it isn’t a pocket one but is built to get placed on a wall. Although it is not your traditional security cams with large unibody design but still it manages to monitor a small room or a small office nicely. Lens, Flash and IR Lamp are located on the front of this security camera along with microphone which means that you can not only monitor what’s happening in your office when you are absent but also hear what other people are talking. The front of this camera also has an LED indicator which turns blue when the camera is connected correctly in network and red when it isn’t. This LED indicator can be turned off if you don’t want to draw unnecessary attention. It can monitor at a fixed angle and one can adjust the focus by just turning the camera over ball-and-socket joint. The ball-and-socket can be easily rotated and once adjusted, it stays there. Coming to rear portion of Compro IP70 Security Camera where almost everything ‘necessary’ that exists in a security cam. At the rear end of this security cam, you can find a USB connector, microSD card slot, Port for AC Adapter, LAN Port and an I/O Port. A microSD card can be inserted in Compro IP70 Security Camera so as to store the recorded footage internally and save bandwidth. The footage can be viewed directly on a computer since recorded videos are encoded in MPEG-4 and H.264 format. Compro IP70 Security Camera Gallery              The Installation Process and Software The Software for Compro IP70 Security Camera to work can be installed pretty easily on any computer, it does not require you to have high configuration, any normal laptop computer or PC would work just fine. Once Software has been installed getting into the user dashboard requires you to enter the default username and password which can be found in the instruction manual (these can be changed later, keep them strong! just for security reasons). Compro IP70 Security camera can be setup on a wall, near the door or anywhere you want. Tracking Options You can choose among several conditions for which the camera would start recording video of the place where it has been installed. Primarily, this one is designed for small business rooms and home usage. It can record videos within time range, dates and even on several events like motion, face detection, suspicious audio which means you don’t need to keep it on while going somewhere since it is intelligent enough to decide what to record and when. The software is very nice because of one more reason i.e. it enables you to monitor up to 16 cameras at once so if you have installed more than 1 Compro IP70 Security Cameras in your building, you can monitor all of them with this single software. Along with this one more thing that we liked about it was that it supports tracking via mobile phones so if you have a Smartphone that runs on Android or iOS4 you can configure camera to send live pictures of “what’s happening” over internet. Visual and Audio Quality It records videos in H.264 video compression which are of fine quality. At this price point, it is one of the best Security Cameras with Night Vision available in market. Along with fast video formatting, it records videos to a microSD card slot or USB Flash Drive for later review. The sound quality isn’t too impressive. Although it managed to capture major sounds but minor ones were neglected by its pinhole microphone in fact the sound went blurred at some points. The Final Verdict Compro IP70 Security Camera is a good deal if you are looking for a portable, easy-to-install, moderate-to-use Security Camera since you can use and install it without the need of any professional or technical. Mounting it on a wall is a child’s play and it offers loads of video storage options. The video and audio quality is bearable for the price its available therefore we give it a thumbs up.
