A70 – Latest Android Smartphone from Micromax

Micromax finally announced their much talked about and anticipated Smartphone, A70. Just like Android A60, this one is also an Android Smartphone but is a little better in specs and costs a little more.

Micromax-A70-Android-Smartphone

Earlier this year, a few leaked picture of A70 Android Smartphone spread across the blogosphere and create the "much required" hype for Micromax.

Micromax is doing quite well in India both in terms of sales and quality standards. I didn't really like Andro A60 but it seemed okay for the price it was released at, this on doesn't look too impressive, a 600MHz processor? (who uses that these days? Sleepy smile)

Well check the tech specs of A70 Smartphone.

Micromax A70 Android Smartphone Tech Specs

  • 3.2" TFT HVGA capacitive touch screen, 65K color display, 320×480 pixels resolution
  • Android 2.2 (Froyo) Operating System
  • 600 MHz processor
  • 5.0 MP primary camera and a VGA secondary camera for video chat
  • 3G enabled
  • Officesuite Viewer for document viewing and editing
  • Also has a Gravity sensor and a Proximity sensor for better web experience (whatever that means!)
  • Comes with apps like
  • Moneycontrol Markets, Ebuddy, Opera Mini, MiRoamer- Mobile radio, Saavn, Mosho, Mundu Live TV, Facebook and Whatsapp pre-installed
  • Micromax dedicated app store (M! – apps) (no Android Market, that's so… Steaming mad, I hope M! – apps have all the great apps from Android Market)

Micromax A70 Smartphone is currently available in market and can be purchased at a price of Rs. 8999/-

China adds “Fake Apple Stores” to its resume of Fakeness

Posted: 20 Jul 2011 03:02 AM PDT

Fake Apple Stores with Original Apple Products spotted in China

You must have seen a lot of fake Mobile Phones, Laptops, Tablet PCs etc. from China (they look somewhat identical, but a fake would remain a fake) including the famous Apple iPhone and iPad but you could have never imagined that there are Unauthorized (maybe) Apple Stores there too (whoa! that's something new).

Fake-Apple-Stores-China

A blogger BirdAbroad walked into one of these stores in the Chinese town of Kunming and was shocked by her experiences in the stores which can be read on her blog.

The products which were placed on display were original (thank goodness) but Apple doesn't have stores in that part of China, so from where have these stores come from? Possibly, they can approved Apple re-sellers or unauthorized one.

"RP and I went inside and poked around. They looked like Apple products. It looked like an Apple store. It had the classic Apple store winding staircase and weird upstairs sitting area. The employees were even wearing those blue t-shirts with the chunky Apple name tags around their necks." ~ BirdAbroad

Well, it is obvious that these stores are not official, they are probably re-sellers of Apple products in China who just imitated to be original so as to make people buy Gadgets from them, I don't see a bright future for stores like these in any part of the world.

HTC Puccini: A 10-inch Tab coming soon to AT&T

Posted: 19 Jul 2011 11:50 PM PDT

HTC Puccini, a 10 inch Android Tablet PC coming soon with AT&T

The rumors that suggested that HTC is working on a 10-inch Android Tab named Puccini has some truth to it. The tablet was spotted while passing Federal Communications Commission (FCC) carrying model number PGPG09410, by the looks of it, it would probably be launched with AT&T network.

HTC-Puccini-Android-Tablet-PC

The FCC filing reveals that HTC Puccini Tablet PC is having support for GSM and WCDMA radios but it appears to offer something more delicious – LTE radios (yeah! I am not kidding). The diagram submitted with FCC also a SIM card slot and dual speakers (that sounds awesome!).

Earlier rumors gave a hint about the release date of HTC Puccini but it was in June and June has already passed (some rumors are just not reliable, most are!). So, we would have to wait for HTC to announce the release date of HTC Puccini Tablet PC, it could be sometime in mid-August or sooner.

Key Features of HTC Puccini Tab

  • Would run on Android OS 3.2 (most probably) i.e. Honeycomb
  • Would have a 10.1 inch large display screen that would support a resolution of 1280 × 800
  • Would be powered by 1.5-GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8660 Dual Core Processor (powerful yet very common these days)
  • Would have HTC Sense UI 3 along with that it would also support HTC Pen Stylus

Its tech specs and key features seems similar to that of HTC Flyer which is a 7" Tab. Anyways, the tablet is coming soon, excited about it?

Darksiders II: The Trailer out, seems to have a strong storyline

Posted: 19 Jul 2011 10:17 AM PDT

Darksiders II – Action Adventure Game from THQ, Official Trailer

Darksiders II is an action packed, adventure based video game from THQ developers (they are same guys behind Smackdown and Raw games). It is a sequel to the outstanding Darksiders and seems to have a somewhat common story, though this time the leading character is not "War" but "Death."

Darksiders-II-Action-Adventure-Game

The game begins in the time in which Darksiders were based, i.e. when Angel lived in Bright Kingdoms, Demons lived in Dark Realms and the man, well he was supposed to live in the world.

The storyline of Darksiders II begins with "War" being sent to Earth by Charred Council for beginning the apocalypse earlier, when "The Horseman Death" comes to know about his brother he becomes enraged and goes on to find evidence to support his brother's innocence.

Have a look at it's trailer.

Darksiders II Trailer

The graphics of the game looks pretty looks and characterizations of Death and War are brilliant, the look and feel of the game is very much similar to Darksiders. I think it would great pass time to play this game, the storyline is good so it would offers some insights about the beginning of this world as well, looks pretty interesting.

It would be available on platforms like PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC. Stay Tuned for more.

BlackBerry Playbook gets Software Update to v1.0.7

Posted: 19 Jul 2011 09:48 AM PDT

BlackBerry Playbook Tablet PC gets another Software Update

It seems that RIM is working hard to make its Playbook Tablet competitive to other major Tabs in the market and the proof of it is companies frequent software updates.

BlackBerry-Playbook-Tablet

This is the fourth time since Playbook's launch that RIM has announced a Software Update. Well, because of this latest update to v1.0.7 you would be able to save your email attachments onto a removable SD card or your phone's internal storage, extract zip files from email (although it would need you to use Bridge and port from your BlackBerry smartphone).

This update would also affect your multimedia settings, you would now be able to use pinch-to-zoom feature while watching videos and galleries can now be seen in portrait mode.

Also, if you update your Playbook Tablet PC to v1.0.7 then you can access your Tab in 15 different languages, so if you always wanted to use Playbook in Russian, this is the update you would need.

Anyways, the new tabs would released with this latest software, if you already own a Playbook Tablet you can either wait for the official update release or just to do it manually. I just wish they come up with something more "useful" next time and take some time to create such "useful" update.
